DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man is facing charges after he allegedly crashed his car into another man's car following a chase and then struck the man with his car. The incident was reported at 12:03 p.m. Thursday on Fayetteville Road near Woodcroft Parkway.

According to a preliminary investigation, Jason Green, 24, of Martha Street saw his girlfriend and two children in a car driven byanother man. Police said Green chased the car on Fayetteville Road and crashed into it several times, causing the other driver, Raymond Hardwell of Pecan Place, to lose control of the car.

Hardwell's car spun into a water-filled ravine on the side of the road near a construction site. When Hardwell got out of the car and started to run across the street, Green turned his car around, drove toward Hardwell and struck him, according toinvestigators.

After striking Hardwell, Green then allegedly grabbed a 4-year-old child out of Hardwell's car and took a 1-year-old child after astruggle with his girlfriend, according to investigators.

Green took the children to a relative's house and then returned to the scene, where he surrendered to police. Hardwell was taken to the hospital for treatment of leg injuries. No one else was injured. The case is still under investigation. Green faces several charges.
