RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Department of Transportation will begin rehabilitating 5.6 miles of Chapel Hill Road (N.C. 54) from Aviation Parkway (state Route 1002) to Interstate 40 in Wake County beginning Monday.
Crews will be improving the shoulder and resurfacing the road.
During construction, lane closures and heavy traffic delays can be expected.
The DOT estimates the project will be finished by mid-June, weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to watch signs for construction information, stay alert, and obey the posted speed limit in the work zone.
