WILSON, N.C. — A man is in custody after a deadly shooting in Wilson Wednesday evening.
Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Lane Street around 5:35 p.m.
Carlos Howard, 18, of Orange Street, was shot in the chest and was pronouced dead at Wilson Medical Center.
Police say they located two people for questioning around 8 p.m.
Early Thursday, they charged Michael Barnes, 20, of Bordon Road, with one count of murder.
Barnes is being held in the Wilson County Detention Center without bond pending his first court appearance.
The investigation is ongoing.
