DURHAM, N.C. — A high school band teacher has been charged with assaulting a student.
A Southern High School band member accused Javanti Rogers of throwing him up against a door, then shoving him out onto the hallway floor.
School officials are investigating the incident.
Rogers has been charged with assault and battery. He is currently suspended from his job with pay.
