RALEIGH, N.C. — The driver of a car involved in a wreck on Interstate 40 Friday night has died.
According to the Highway Patrol, 26-year old David Holder was traveling westbound near Wade Avenue when he crossed the median, crashed through a retaining battier and into eastbound traffic.
Holder collided with a sedan and his Acura was cut in half. He was transported to WakeMed where he died Saturday.
The driver of the sedan, 62-year-old Daniel Pearson, of Durham, suffered severe head injuries and a broken wrist. He is being treated at WakeMed. His wife, Judith, 61, was treated and released.
The wreck is being investigated. No charges will be filed.
