GARNER, N.C. — A Garner police officer is recovering after a run-in with a suspect.
Authorities said Max Gerber tried to get inside an unopened business at the Garner Town Shopping Center Wednesday.
When the officer tried to arrest him, Gerber resisted. Both men scuffled and Gerber bit the officer.
Authorities said Gerber's blood-alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit.
