FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police in Fayetteville say a Fort Bragg soldier was at the wheel of a deadly crash in Fayetteville early Friday morning.
Police say Charles Yarbrough was driving too fast along Bragg Boulevard, between Johnson and Swain streets, around 1:30 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a median.
A 19-year-old passenger was thrown from the vehicle and killed.
Yarborough and another passenger suffered minor injuries. They are both members of Fort Bragg's Charlie Company, 325th Battalion.
There is no word whether the victim was also a soldier.
