— Raleigh police arrested two people Thursday who they say were involved in two bank robberies this week.

William Clinard Shore, 29, of Clayton, was arrested Thursday afternoon at a motel on New Bern Avenue following a robbery at a Bank of America Branch at 321 Oberlin Road in Cameron Village.

Police later arrested Bobby Edward Shaw, 33, of Raleigh, at a home in Wendell.

Investigators say Shores robbed the Bank of America, as well as a Capital Boulevard PNC Bank on Wednesday and that Shaw drove the getaway car.

The robber in both cases was described as being a white man wearing a hat, sunglasses and dark clothing and having a scruffy beard.

Police said a Crime Stoppers tip resulting from media coverage was instrumental in identifying Shore as a suspect.

Further details weren't immediately available Thursday evening.

That's the last thing any sane person wants on a college campus.

Lol, the irony of this statement is that in order to receive a concealed handgun permit, the state must ensure the recipient is sane by way of a psychological records background check.

There are a bunch of people that went to Virginia Tech that would disagree with you...if they could

rabbitdog, my favorite NRA cause is your forcing the availibility of armour piercing rounds. Just in case Bambi is wearing a bulletproof vest. LEOs love it too.

If I were going to commit a crime I'd like to think I was smart enough to go somewhere other than Raleigh or even Wake county for that matter.
It's starting to look like Wake county law enforcement actually enjoy catching bad guys. I'm just saying.

"Glad they got them. What if an elderly person had been in the bank and got so scared they had a heart attack and died, right there? I know anyone can have a heart attack at any age, but my question is, if that happened, could these two individuals be charged with murder? Glad that didn't happen and nobody was hurt. Physically, at least."

Under NC's felony murder rule the death of a person having a heart attack during an armed robbery can be considered a death as a direct result of that robbery and thus the perpetrator can be found guilty of 1st degree murder as well as the armed robbery.
Unfortunately these criminals aren't educated enough to know that and therefore the law isn't a deterrent.

"Funny how a story on a bank robbery turns into a discussion of gun control. The NRA has its children well trained!!"

Don't worry folks. If you don't want to defend yourself and your families we NRA members consider that your right and don't mind it at all. We're also proud of the training our NRA provides us.

Seeing lots of good news out of law enforcement lately. Keep it up men & women of the Raleigh Police it's greatly appreciated by me. Perhaps WRAL deserves some credit too (can't believe I'm saying it), but they have been doing a good job lately of bringing these stories as they break.
