Man Who Killed Neighbor Pleads Guilty To Indecent Liberties Charge

print friendly

A Johnston County man who shot and killed his neighbor pleaded guilty Tuesday to another crime.

Ronnie Lewis will serve between 11 and 14 months in prison for taking indecent liberties with a child.

When Lewis is released, he will serve five years probation and must enroll as a sex offender.

Last spring, Lewis shot and killed his neighbor, Charles McCain. McCain broke down Lewis' door after Lewis exposed himself to McCain's son.

The district attorney did not press murder charges because he said Lewis had a right to protect his home.
