SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. — Beavers cause millions of dollars of damage each year to roadways and bridges, and one county is taking a proactive approach to stopping the problem.
Sampson County extended Ronnie Thompson's contract for another month. Thompson is in charge of trapping beavers.
The county kept him on the payroll because several homeowners were on the waiting list looking for help with their problem with beavers.
