Cherry Point Marine Charged With Premeditated Murder

CHERRY POINT, N.C. — Cpl. Mitchell J. Laramore, 21, has been charged with premeditated murder and three counts of communicating a threat for his involvement in the Feb. 3 stabbing death of Lance Cpl. Annon D. Millette.

The incident occurred when an argument between several Marines escalated into a physical altercation. Laramore allegedly stabbed Millette in the neck with a knife.

Laramore and Millette were assigned to Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, and were stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point.

At the time of the incident, Laramore and Millette were part of a detachment from MWCS-28 that was deployed to Twentynine Palms, Calif., for a combined arms exercise.

Laramore has been held in the Camp Lejeune, N.C., Brig since he was transported from California following the incident. He is from O'Fallon, Mo., and joined the Marine Corps in 2001.
