CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Chatham County has given the green light to a new, gated community near Jordan Lake.
The Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 Monday to allow the construction of 475 homes near the west bank of the lake.
Developers of the proposed Homestead community had to meet 10 conditions in order for that to happen.
The main concession was eliminating 20 houses from the critical watershed area.
