Trial Begins For Johnston Man Charged With Taking Indecent Liberties With Minor

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — Jury selection began Monday for a Johnston County man charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor.

Ronnie Lewis is accused of fatally shooting his neighbor, Charles McCain, last April.

Officials said McCain broke down Lewis' door after Lewis allegedly exposed himself to McCain's son.

The District Attorney did not press murder charges because he said deadly force was justified.
