Item Falls From Truck, Causes Accident In Johnston County

print friendly

Authorities are sorting out the details of an accident on eastbound Interstate 40 Monday.

Authorities say something fell from the bed of a pickup truck near exit 312 in Johnston County. A sport utility vehicle swerved toward the median to avoid the object, went into the median and went out of control, hitting another truck and flipping over.

Two occupants had to be cut out of the SUV. Crews say the two occupants suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The truck also went out of control and ended up on its side by the median, but no one was injured.

Authorities said the pickup truck never stopped.
