WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A former Wake County school employee has pleaded guilty to embezzling $168,000 from the school system.
Dremma Stiltner of Wendell admitted depositing personal checks that school employees wrote to the school system into her personal account.
The embezzlement happened over a four-year period. Stiltner was sentenced to five years probation.
Stiltner paid $70,000 in restitution this week and owes another $20,000 over the course of her probation. The school system recovered the rest of the money.
