DURHAM, N.C. — Unhappy parents are demanding an apology from

Durham Public Schools

.

Their demand comes after the school district apparently threatened to cut funding to New Horizons, an alternative school for students who are expelled.

The group aired their grievances at a meeting with the superintendent Thursday night.

School officials did not apologize, but did say they made a mistake by threatening to cut off funding to the school.
