DURHAM, N.C. — Police in Durham are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found on the railroad tracks near Ellis Road Tuesday morning.
A motorist called 911 around 9:40 a.m. to report a body behind a warehouse.
Officers found the body of a white female lying on the railroad tracks.
The woman's identity and cause of death are not yet known, but investigators are treating it as a homicide.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Durham Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division at (919) 560-4440 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-01200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases.
