Wake County Deputies Apprehend Fuquay-Varina Murder Suspect

Posted Updated

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — It took a little more than a day for Wake County deputies to find two men they were looking for in connection with a stabbing death in Fuquay-Varina.

"The word was out on the street," Sheriff Donnie Harrison said. "We went to several places. It was just good police work -- that's what I credit it to. My hat's off to those guys and ladies involved in it."

Deputies worked with Angier police on Sunday to arrest Marvin Lopez, who is accused of stabbing Wilfredo Dardon to death Saturday outside a convenience store in Fuquay-Varina.

Lopez was wanted on prior charges as well. He was being held Sunday night in the Wake County Detention Center without bond.

Deputies also arrested Miro Perez and charged him for lying to investigators.

The two men could be in even more trouble because deputies suspect they are undocumented immigrants.
