FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — The Wake County Sheriff's Office has identified a suspect in the homicide that occurred Saturday at 10100 Fayetteville Road in Fuquay-Varina. The suspect was on the loose Saturday night.

Based on interviews and leads developed during their investigation, deputies have obtained a warrant for 27-year-old Marvin Matillas Lopez, a.ka. Marvin Rocael Matias Lopez, of 9700 Eden Trail in Fuquay-Varina. He is accused of killing Wilfredo Estape Dardon, a.ka. Wilfredo Estupe Ardon.

Investigators think an argument may have led to the murder of Dardon, believed to be an illegal alien from Guatemala.

Deputies were called to a disturbance near a store on Fayetteville Road early Saturday morning. They spotted blood, and a K-9 search found the dead body of Dardon, who had been stabbed, in the nearby woods.

Deputies also drew up a warrant for Mauro Andulio Matias Perez, of 9700 Eden Trail, charging him with delaying and obstructing an investigation.
