Hoke County Woman Charged With Murdering Baby, Could Get Death Penalty

HOKE COUNTY, N.C. — A Hoke County teenager accused of killing her 6-week-old baby could get the death penalty.

A judge has given prosecutors permission to seek capital punishment for 17-year-old LaToya McLean.

Roughly three months ago, she was charged with first-degree murder in the death of her son, Nasir Jones.

According to autopsy reports, Nasir died from blows to the head.
