Posted Updated

EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — Dozens of pit bulls seized by the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office have been euthanized.

Deputies rounded up 32 animals in February. They were allegedly part of a dogfighting ring in Rocky Mount.

A judge ordered the dogs put to sleep after determining they were not adoptable.

Four people are in jail on animal cruelty charges.
