Target Set To Open On Old South Square Mall Site

DURHAM, N.C. — A first for Durham is about to open its doors where a dying mall once sat.

The new Target is scheduled to open Sunday. The discount store is located at the old South Square Mall site. That mall was torn down about a year ago.

The Target will be joined by a Sam's Club and a dozen other shops. Another Target is expected to open near the Streets at Southpoint.
