FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A car struck a utility pole, causing downed power lines on Murchison Road near McLamb Drive in Fayetteville Thursday morning.
Power outages are reported and traffic on Murchison Road is being rerouted.
The Fayetteville Police Department says all inbound and outbound traffic is being rerouted down Gillis Street from Murchison Road to McLamb Drive and back onto Murchison Road.
Traffic officers are asking that no tractor-trailers traveling inbound proceed past the intersection of Murchison Road and Country Club and Pamalee Drive.
Tractor-trailers traveling out of town can use Filter Plant Drive or Langdon Street as alternate routes away from the accident site.
The traffic in this area will be affected for the next six hours. Updates will be provided throughout the day.
