RALEIGH, N.C. — Passengers aboard an American Airlines flight from London were stranded on the plane at Raleigh-Durham International Airport Monday afternoon after a water main ruptured inside the customs area at Terminal C.
Passengers were to exit the plane parked at the terminal at around 4 p.m., but airport spokeswoman Mindy Hamlin says they were kept onboard until about 5:30 p.m.
Hamlin says the water main break left about a half-inch of water in the customs area.
Passengers were let off the plane after a makeshift customs area was set up.
