Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Officials with the Durham Housing Department said a new initiative has uncovered 157 code violations in two neighborhoods.

The code enforcement team began work in the neighborhoods near Duke University and N.C. Central earlier in February and has inspected hundreds of properties so far.

According to the city policy, the owners of properties that do not meet the city's housing code have up to 90 days to bring their property into compliance.
