HOKE COUNTY, N.C. — A 13-year-old girl reported missing is back with her family and the man accused of abducting her is charged with a sex crime.
Authorities issued a Amber Alert Wednesday after the girl's parents reported she was gone.
Hoke County investigators say she was found about noon Thursday in North Charleston, S.C.
Samuel Ramos has been charged in North Carolina with first-degree kidnapping. North Charleston police said he is charged there with criminal sexual conduct.
Authorities had believed Ramos abducted the girl Wednesday morning outside East Hoke Middle School.
Investigators say new details indicate the girl wasn't taken from the school, but Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin declined to elaborate.
