Posted Updated

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Georgia Tech sure is making a name for itself at this Final Four.

Will Bynum shook loose for a layup with 1.5 seconds left Saturday and sent the Yellow Jackets further than they have been in the NCAA tournament, putting them into the championship gamewith a 67-65 victory over Oklahoma State.

John Lucas capped a furious comeback with a 3-pointer for the Cowboys that tied it at 65 with 26.3 seconds left.

After a timeout, Tech worked the ball around to Bynum, who did not even start the game. He drove down the right side of the lane, double-clutched and banked home the winner.

Lucas, the star of Oklahoma State's thrilling win over Saint Joseph's in the regional final, threw up an airball from three-quarters court at the buzzer.

The Yellow Jackets will play the winner of Saturday's second national semifinal between Duke and Connecticut. Georgia Tech has beaten both those teams this season, beating UConn en route to the preseason NIT championship and beating Duke in Durham to snap the Blue Devils' 41-game home winning streak.
