WASHINGTON — Raleigh's Clay Aiken made the most of a concert tour stop in Washington, D.C., Tuesday.
During his visit, the "American Idol" finalist stopped by the Capitol to sing "Happy Birthday" to Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-N.C. Other stops included a visit to the White House and a luncheon with politicians.
Aiken was also in town to support the American Film Institute and its Screen Education Center. The center helps teachers use filmmaking and media production to help students get excited about learning.
Monday, Aiken was in New York City to help Charlotte-based Wachovia Bank open its first branch in the Big Apple.
Aiken and fellow "American Idol" stars will perform at Raleigh's RBC Center August 6.
