print friendly

A Lee County High School senior died in a weather-related wreck near Sanford.

Authorities say 19-year-old Keith Baker was riding on Chris Cole Road around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday with 18-year-old Holly Crowsone when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crashed into a tree, killing Crowsone.

Investigators believe speed and icy road conditions were factors in the accident. Baker, a former student at Lee County High School, was treated and released from the hospital.

Baker is being charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. His first court appearance is scheduled for April 20.

Lee County High School has guidance counselors on hand for students and faculty members.
