Wake Commissioners Side With Residents About Proposed Subdivisions

Posted Updated

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Wake County commissioners heard the voices of upset residents who want to stop two proposed subdivisions near Knightdale.

Dozens of residents packed the Board of Commissioners meeting in Raleigh Monday. They were against the type of sewage system the developers plan to build.

The system uses a treatment pond similar to hog waste lagoons, then sprays the treated water on natural areas.

The county planning board recommended approval, but on Monday, commissioners voted on the side of the residents.

They say the developers must get the approval from the state for the sewage system before coming back to the board.
