Multi-Vehicle Wreck On I-95 Ties Up Traffic For Hours

Authorities say a tractor-trailer carrying vans, a bus used to haul construction supplies and a Ford Explorer were involved in the accident Thursday near Four Oaks at mile marker 87.

Sgt. Cameron Taylor, of the state Highway Patrol, said the Ford Explorer ran off the medium and struck the guardrail. It then came back into traffic where it was struck by the tractor-trailer.

"I tried to avoid him and I wasn't able to. When I hit him, it caused me to go into a spin and I jackknifed up under the bridge. [I] came to a stop and then a bus hit me," said Harry Kelly, who drove the tractor-trailer.

Highway Patrol officials said Reynaldo Reynoso and Cesear Uribe are in the hospital. There is no word on their conditions. Jeffrey Simon, the driver of the Ford Explorer, is being charged with reckless driving.
