RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh woman has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of her son.
Authorities arrested 67-year-old Patricia A. Burrus last night. She is being held at the Wake County jail without bail pending a court hearing.
Authorities say 46-year-old Gilbert Stevens Burrus of Apex suffered multiple stab wounds. He later died at Raleigh Community Hospital.
Authorities say Gilbert Burrus and his wife were helping his mother with cleaning and clerical chores yesterday afternoon. Deputies later responded to a 9-1-1 emergency call from the residence.
Investigators would not disclose what led to the deadly confrontation.
