RALEIGH — Police in Raleigh are looking for a man suspected of attempting to kidnap an Enloe High School student as she left campus Friday afternoon.
Investigators say Kevin Darden, 20, faces charges of attempted second-degree kidnapping and common-law robbery.
Authorities say a 16-year-old female student was walking to her car parked on a side street adjacent to the high school. As she approached the car, she told police the suspect walked up behind her.
Armed with a gun, police say the suspect tried to force the student into the car. While escaping, the girl dropped her car keys and the suspect took the car, which was found abandoned nearby.
