SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. — Some middle school students in Sampson County are a step closer to getting their auditorium back.
A fire broke out at Roseboro Salemburg Middle School in December. It caused more than $600,000 in damage.
School officials have been waiting for the insurance company to cut them a check. They just received the first payment of $100,000.
