WARRENTON, N.C. — A Warren County couple was arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of their baby in October.
Adria Barnette and George Barnette each was charged with involuntary manslaughter. They were placed in the Warren County Jail on a $25,000 bond each.
Warren County Sheriff Johnny Williams believes the couple's 5-month-old boy died as the result of being shaken.
The Barnettes' first court appearance is scheduled for March 22 at 9:30 a.m.
The Barnettes have a 2-year-old daughter, who was removed from their custody Wednesday. Williams did not say where the girl was taken.
