DURHAM, N.C. — The milk is turning pink in Durham, but it is a good thing.
Durham Bulls mascot Wool E-Bull was on hand for a special strawberry milk breakfast at Eno Valley Elementary School. The idea is to convince kids to go dairy.
The milk madness is part of
Heart Health Month
.
Kids also participated in a 1 percent lowfat milk coloring sheet contest and a "Design your own lowfat milk carton" contest.
The activities the children participated in and the educational materials they received all were to encourage them to choose lowfat milk over soda and other sugar-sweetened beverages.
