CARRBORO, N.C. — Two sexual assaults at two apartment complexes along Highway 54 have investigators warning residents to be on alert.
Authorities said both assaults happened early Monday morning.
In one case, the suspect broke a window to get into the apartment, then he tied up and raped the woman.
In the other case, the suspect entered the apartment through an unlocked door. Investigators say he did not rape the woman, but he did sexually assault her.
Police do not think the two cases are related and may have been committed by two different individuals.
