DURHAM — Karim Garcia had two homers and drove in four runs as the Buffalo Bison beat the Durham Bulls 7-1 Sunday night in a game that was shortened to seven innings because of rain.
Garcia hit a two-run homer in the first inning, then hit another in the Bisons' four-run third. He finished 2-for-3.
Buffalo starter Zach Day (1-0) allowed one run on three hits in six innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Durham starter Travis Harper (8-6) went five innings, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits. He struck out two and walked one.
Anthony Medrano and Kevin Sefcik also homered for the Bisons. Medrano was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs.
Durham finished with just three hits.
The game was called after the seventh inning, when heavy rain fell in the area.
