CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Sting broke a seven-game losing streak Wednesday night with a 74 to 50 victory over the Detroit Shock.
Andrea Stinson led the team with 23 points. Dawn Staley added a season-high 11 assists.
Allison Feaster scored 12 points for Charlotte. The team improved to two and 10 with the win. Clarisse Machanguana added 10 points and nine rebounds while Shalonda Enis and Tammy Sutton-Brown scored nine points each.
Astou Ndiaye-Diatta scored 13 points for Detroit, which has lost five straight to drop to 3-8 on the season. Claudia das Neves added 11 points, all in the second half.
Staley set a team record eight assists in the first half as Charlotte built a 36 to 20 lead.
