Plan To Develop Condos In Downtown Raleigh Reaches Impasse

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A prime piece of downtown Raleigh real estate will remain in limbo.

Tuesday night, the Raleigh city council met with developer Vaughn King about the future of the old Belk Building.

For more than year, King has been trying to turn the building into condos. But after multiple problems, city leaders are now losing patience.

King blames the Fayetteville Street Mall project.

The city council referred the matter to a committee.
