N.C. State Cancels Classes Thursday; Adverse Weather Policy In Effect

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Classes at North Carolina State University have been cancelled for Thursday, Sept. 18. The university will operate Thursday under the school's adverse weather policy.

Provost James L. Oblinger, in consultation with Chancellor Marye Anne Fox and Vice Chancellor of Finance and Business George Worsley, announced the decision after university officials reviewed the latest National Weather Service forecast for

Hurricane Isabel.

Under the school's adverse weather policy, faculty and staff are responsible for their regularly-assigned duties and must make up time missed. Essential employees should report for work. Employees in non-critical roles must make their own decisions about reporting to work, based on personal safety.

Additional announcements concerning Friday, Sept. 19, class and work schedules will be made Thursday.
