Edwards Takes Cause To State Of Washington

SEATTLE — A day after being booed in California, Democratic Sen. John Edwards came to Seattle billing himself as a champion of the little guy.
Edwards stressed domestic issues to the Democratic Party faithful at the Machinists' union hall.
He received enthusiastic applause even though many in the crowd of a few hundred said they worried about Edwards' October vote authorizing President Bush to wage war on Iraq.
The North Carolina senator said he has no regrets about the vote, but he has questioned Bush's approach. He was booed in California on Saturday after pledging support for disarming Saddam Hussein by force.
Edwards is the first declared Democratic presidential candidate to visit Washington this election season.
