Fayetteville Woman In Custody After Leaving Children Alone In Home

Cumberland County sheriff's deputies confirmed Sunday that 24-year-old Latisha McLaughlin is being held in the Cumberland County jail Duty officer confirmed the below info EXCEPT the bond amount. These are correct: -- $1000 for the child endangerment charge -- $150 for the no operators license charge -- $300 for the DWI charge

on Friday for leaving her three children unattended in her mobile home.

McLaughlin, who is 24 and who lives in Fayetteville, was charged with exposing children to fire. Her bail was set at $10,000.

She is also wanted in Indiana for unrelated crimes. Deputies said McLaughlin admitted that she left her children, age 6, 4 and 2, alone while she went to a bar to look for her boyfriend.

The children are staying with a relative, according to a sheriff's report. McLaughlin is wanted in Indiana for assaulting a police officer and possession of cocaine. She will be extradited, the sheriff's report said.
