CARY — Carla Overbeck scored on a rebound a minute and 20seconds into overtime today as the Carolina Courage advanced to theW-U-S-A title game with a 2-to-1 win against the Atlanta Beat.
Danielle Fotopolous scored on a penalty kick in the 89th minuteto tie the game for the Courage.
Carolina trailed most of the way after Nikki Serlenga's penaltykick in the 28th minute gave Atlanta a 1-to-0 lead.
Carolina outshot Atlanta 20-to-6.
The Courage face Washington in the Founders Cup game next week.
