RALEIGH, N.C. — Severe weather is hitting parts of the WRAL viewing area.
A tornado watch has been issued until 11 p.m. Friday in the following counties: Beaufort, Bladen, Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Duplin, Edgecombe, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, Dare, Martin, New Hanover, Onslow, Hyde, Pamlico, Pender, Pitt, Sampson, Tyrrell, Washington, Wayne, and Wilson.
A tornado warning has been issued for Halifax and Northampton counties.
Central N.C. counties west of the Triangle are under a flood watch until midnight because the ground is already saturated by melting ice from the recent winter weather.
Some fender-benders have been reported across the Triangle area. Motorists are urged to be cautious on the roads.
