FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred late Saturday in Cumberland County.
The accident happened near Fayetteville on Tabor Church Road at about 10 p.m.
Investigators said the driver of a pickup truck crossed the center line on Tabor Church Road near Fayetteville when the truck hit a Dodge Stratus head-on.
The car caught fire and the driver of the car died, authorities said.
The driver of the truck and two passengers -- a 7-year-old and 9-year-old girl -- were taken to a local hospital.
The names of those involved have not yet been released.
