CARY, N.C. — A student was hit by a vehicle outside a Cary school late Friday afternoon, said Cary officials.
According to Cary spokesperson April Little, a 15-year-old was crossing the road in front of Green Hope High School on Carpenter Upchurch Road about 3 p.m. when the vehicle struck him.
Authorities said the injured student was alert when he was transported from the scene to Duke Medical Center. Police said that the incident is under investigation.
The accident happened in the same area where another student was hit by a vehicle on Sept. 25. Andrew Shurney was seriously injured in that incident and was released from Duke Medical Center in October.
