<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — Durham police are looking for a motorist who left an elderly man critically injured Wednesday evening in a hit-and-run accident.

According to police, the 81-year-old man was crossing Morehead Avenue near Arnette Avenue in the West End neighborhood around 6 p.m. when he was struck by a minivan. The vehicle then left the scene of the accident.

The unidentified man was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment.

Police described the vehicle as a white minivan, but do not have a description of its occupants. Anyone with information related to the accident is asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at
