1 Arrested, 1 Sought In Raleigh Double Homicide

RALEIGH, N.C. — One person is in custody and another person is sought in connection with a double homicide in Raleigh that occurred Sunday night.

Officers were responding to a shooting call at 1120 South East Street. When they arrived, they found 21-year-old Lashawn Perez and 23-year-old Jermiah Stirrup had been shot multiple times.

Authorities have charged 17-year-old Jamieson Jamal Tuck and 21-year-old James Edward Whitaker with two counts of murder. Tuck was taken into custody without incident Monday on Pine Forest Drive by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Raleigh Police Department's Fugitive Squad.

Investigators are still looking for Whitaker. Anyone with any information about Whitaker's whereabouts is asked to contact Raleigh police.
