CARY, N.C. — A man suspected of robbing a pizza shop Sunday afternoon surrendered to police after a five-hour standoff, police said.

A Pizza Hut in Reedy Creek Plaza was robbed, and the thief ran off, police said.

Police surrounded a house on Hilary Lane a short time later, believing the suspect had hidden in the attic there.

Wesley Burner was arrested at the house at about 9 p.m. Sunday, police said. There was no word late Sunday on the charges filed against him.

Two other men were taken into custody for questioning. They have not been charged, police said.
